Vinyl Lettering Installation

Before attempting to install your vinyl lettering it is important to take a moment to familiarize yourself with the product.

It comes with 3 layers. The first layer is an application tape. It is like a sheet of masking tape. The vinyl lettering is the second layer and the vinyl backing is the third layer.

Step 1:     Start by cleaning the surface where you will apply the lettering. It must be clean and dry for proper adhesion. If you have a newly painted surface it must be dry and cured. Most paints require at least 24 hours for curing.

Step 2:     Now take the lettering with the application tape side up. Rub over the lettering to make sure the application tape adheres to the lettering. A credit card, craft stick and sometimes just your fingers are sufficient to make sure the application tape is secured to the lettering.

Step 3:     Carefully place the lettering in the position where you want it applied. We use masking tape to hold it in place while we finish the installation.

Step 4:     Next you will carefully remove the vinyl backing from the lettering. Make sure that the lettering is adhering to the application tape. If the vinyl lettering is still stuck to the vinyl backing then go back and repeat step 2.

Step 5:     Rub the lettering again to press it from the application tape onto the final surface. It works best when you start at one side and work toward other.

Step 6:     Slowly remove the application tape. It works best if you start with a top corner and pull diagonally close to the application surface. If the lettering is still stuck to the application tape then go back to step 5.
